Home-ware haul

I have recently funded towards a few new home-ware items for my newly decorated room. I believe that even the smallest type of buys can still bring forward a whole new atmosphere towards a room. I had decided to re-decorate my room for a number of reasons. My bedroom is currently in an attic. So, it tends to be extremely dark and gloomy. The colour that was previously on my walls was a dark-turquoise tone. I thought that this colour was far too dark and decreased any type of light from entering my room. So, I painted my walls a duck-egg shade and cream. This lightened my room massively and just overall looks much more mature and suitable. Yet, I will hopefully be moving out next year to go to University. To some of you this re-decoration may seem pointless but I share a room with my younger sister so I believe this will benefit her in the long-run also.

Once decorated, I purchased a range of different items to add a homely effect to my room. These items ranged from candles to lights.

The first item I had purchased was fairy lights. I placed these
lights in and around the board of my bed to add a more  decorative effect. I had bought these fairy lights from The Range rating at around £5.00 per pack. The lights are extremely pretty and make my room look very cosy.

I had then decided to buy a range of different candles. I believe adding
candles to a bedroom will bring the whole room together. It adds a
homely, warm tone to the bedroom and overall makes it look much
more presentable. I would highly recommend purchasing candles
from Yankee Candle. These candles have a scent that is strong
enough to smell when you enter the room, but not strong enough
to burn your scent. My favourite scent from this range is spring days.
It is the perfect flower scent that is not too strong. I placed this
candle inside a Yankee Candle vase for more effect.

As my bedroom is placed inside an attic, I tend to not have much light
enter my room, especially in the winter. So, buying a bedside lamp
was essential for me. I wanted to buy a lamp that was simple yet
pretty. This lamp shade blends perfectly with my cream walls and
adds a warm light to my room. The lamp I had purchased was
ranging at £11.99 from The Range. I believe that the diamond shaped
decoration also blends perfectly with my diamond-shaped fairy lights.

Finally, a bedroom would not be complete without the perfect bed-sheets.
I wanted mine to blend well with the rest of the room and look more
mature. So, I had purchased these sheets from B&M ranging in at
around £12.00. The inner-sheet has a black shade which links
well with the black furniture.

My go-to eyeshadow look-

On a daily, everyday basis I attempt to create new makeup looks. All depending on the type of day, season or event I will be faced with. Yet, I always tend to come back to my favourite type of eye shadow look. Even though this eye shadow look is on the smokey side, I believe that you can still wear it on a daily basis if you add subtle shades carefully. In this post, I will be discussing my favourite eye shadow shades to use on a daily basis and a go-to look I tend to stick with. Even though the eye shadow palettes I use are higher-end cosmetics, I believe that you can easily create this look with certain eye shadow palettes such as 'In the Buff' which is a dupe to the Naked 2 palette.

To begin, I believe that preparing the eyelid for the eye shadow is key. Find yourself a primer that is suitable for your skin type. For example, if you suffer with oily skin, a matte-based primer will benefit you most. My personal favourite is Urban Decay Primer Potion. This primer is my all-time best simply because it prevents oily lids and also adds a touch of colour to cover veins or discolouration on the eyelid.

Once the eye shadow primer has been applied, I personally prefer
to place a translucent powder above the primer for even more
coverage. Once preparation is completed, I begin with the eye shadow. The eye shadow shade Urban Decay- Shag is one of my all-time favourite shades. You can use this eye shadow on an average day or for a night out. Yet, I would advise to spritz a setting spray onto the eye shadow brush before applying because the shade is extremely pigmented. I apply this shade to the centre of my lid in a patting motion to prevent any fallout. Once completed, I begin with the crease.

Even though this particular shade is not actually an eye shadow,
I still prefer to use it within the crease. Hoola bronzer by
Benefit is a great shade to use because it is extremely
matte and has not shimmer whatsoever. I apply this
in circular motions within the crease until it is all
blended.

Once the crease is completed, I begin with the outer-corner
of my eyelid. I tend to prefer to use a much darker shade
within the outer-corner as it adds a more smokey
effect to the look. I tend to use the shades from the
Naked 2 palette to achieve this smokey shade. My
favourite shades to use within this palette are
snakebite and busted.

I would further advise to place a highlighter shade or
a bright shade onto the eyebrow bone to create a
more illuminated effect and to add even more
coverage. After this final step, my eye
shadow routine is completed.I also prefer to add
a liquid eyeliner for a more edgy effect. I hope this
helps and I hope to see you create this look one day.

 Introducing myself;

My name is Chloe Jenkins. I am a 17 year old girl who has just completed my first round of AS levels (terrifying I know) I have decided to create this blog because I would love to share my passion for makeup, lifestyle, fashion and creativity with you all. Even though I am new to this sort of scene, I believe with your help and guidance I will be able to create up-to-date posts about what I love most.

My one true passion;

Makeup. I was never truly into makeup when I was younger, not even last year come to think of it. Yet, overtime I have learnt that makeup is an art form that anyone can create if they put their mind to it. I am not saying that I am the best makeup applier in the world, because by all means I am not! But I really do love waking up every morning and having the ability to create different looks on my face. Some days I may go for gold eye-shadow and dewy skin, then others a bold red lip and bare eyes. It all depends on my mood or time of year. Yet overall, makeup has truly become one of my favourite type of coping method there is and I would be so bored and helpless without it.

I could not write a post about makeup without mentioning my all time favourite way to apply it. Artis brushes. Even though these brushes are not the original £200 artis brushes (I am on a budget) I believe that they still live up to the expectation. I had decided to purchase 5 different artis brushes as I believe that they would all work wonders in a range of different ways. For example, the brush on the far left of the image is mainly used for foundation. Whereas, I tend to use the brush on the far right for applying concealer. Each and every one of these brushes blend perfectly and leave no patches or blotches over the course of the day. The only issue I have with these brushes is that they do need constant cleaning and if you are a girl like me, you HATE cleaning brushes! Apart from that disadvantage, I would highly recommend artis brushes to every makeup lover or makeup beginner. I had purchased mine from Amazon at around £6.00.
